Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Clipio desktop app and the website at clipio.pro (together, “Clipio”). By installing the app, creating an account or using the website, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Clipio.

Early access

Clipio is in early access (beta). It is free during this period. It is still being built, so features may change, move or be removed, and you may run into bugs. Keep your own copies of anything important. Clipio stores your work on your computer, and we cannot recover files that are lost there.

Some features may become paid in the future. If that happens, we will say so clearly before you are charged anything. Nothing is ever charged without your agreement.

Your account

• You need to be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for online services where you live, whichever is higher, to create an account.
• Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person per account. Tell us at support@clipio.pro if you think someone else has used yours.

Your content

Everything you record, capture or create with Clipio is yours. We claim no rights to it and, because it stays on your computer, we never see it.

You are responsible for what you record and share. In particular:

• Only record people, calls, meetings or audio where you have the right to, including any consent the law where you are requires.
• Respect copyright and other people’s rights in anything that appears on your screen.
• Links you share through Google Drive can be opened by anyone who has them. Check what a file contains before you share it.

Acceptable use

Do not use Clipio to:

• Break the law, or record or share content that is illegal
• Secretly record or monitor other people without their knowledge where that is required
• Harass, threaten or harm anyone
• Attack, overload or try to get unauthorised access to our website, servers or other users’ accounts
• Resell Clipio, or misrepresent a copy of it as your own product

The software

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Clipio on computers you own or control. The app, the website, the Clipio name and logo belong to us. Please do not copy, modify, decompile or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it or where a component is under an open-source licence that says otherwise.

Clipio includes open-source software, such as FFmpeg, Electron and whisper.cpp. Those components are covered by their own licences.

Updates

The desktop app checks for new versions and downloads them in the background. An update installs when you restart or quit Clipio. It never interrupts a recording. Updates may add, change or remove features.

Third-party services

Some features rely on other services, like Google sign-in and Google Drive. Your use of those is also covered by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. Our Privacy Policy explains what data Clipio handles and how.

Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions or bug reports, we may use them to improve Clipio without owing you anything. Thank you. They genuinely shape what we build.

No warranty

Clipio is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will never lose or damage a recording.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Clipio and the people behind it are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or business, arising from your use of Clipio. Because Clipio is free during early access, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to US$50.

Some places do not allow these limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law permits, and nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

Ending your use

You can stop using Clipio at any time. To delete your account, email support@clipio.pro. Uninstalling the app does not delete your recordings. They stay in your folders until you delete them.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or our service at risk. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Clipio grows. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell account holders by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Clipio after that, you accept the new terms.
